Under PAT's Year 2000 business plan, Bangkok Port (BKP), which currently serves mainly feeder ships, will be developed to provide faster, more convenient and more economical services. With the twin objectives of attracting new business and increasing customer satisfaction, PAT introduces several new value-added services as well as standardizes the existing services according to ISO 9002, Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) 18000, ISM Code and other internationally recognized standards.

In addition, Bangkok Port has developed computer systems applied in various work such as installing Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) at Container Terminal 1 and 2, providing advanced information for import cargoes and billing of port service charges via E-mail, establishing Vessel Information Technology Center and introducing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to communicate with ship agents on Inward Container List and Cargo Manifest.

Bangkok Port also plans to introduce the One-Stop Service to facilitate port customers in document procedures. This service  is expected to start upon the completion of PAT's new headquarters in the year 2001.
