Emirates Shipping hikes rates progressively on Intra-Asia, Africa trades PDF Print E-mail

DUBAI registered and Hong Kong headquartered Emirates Shipping Line has
announced a general rate increase (GRI) running from March 1 to April 15
covering the Far East to East Africa, the Far East to the Mediterranean and
intra-Asia trades.


To keep up with market conditions, Emirates said a US$150 per TEU general
rate increase will be applied on March 1 to be followed by a $100 increase
on March 15, another $150 charge on April 1 and a $100 hike on April 15.

Specifically, these will apply to the Far East and south east Asia to East
Africa trade at $250 per TEU on March 1 and another $250 per TEU increase
coming on April 1.

On the Far East and south east Asia to Indian subcontinent and Middle East
trade there will be a $150 per TEU increase on March 1, followed by another
$100 per TEU increase on March 15, a $150 per TEU on April 1 and a $100 per
TEU increase on April 15.

On the intra-Asia trade, there will be a $50 per TEU increase from March 1
and another $50 per TEU increase from April 1.
